Four Males Arrested, Two Vehicles Seized and Weapons Recovered in Connection with Grangetown Incident

Police arrested four males yesterday following an incident on Monmouth Road in Grangetown which occurred at around 2:30pm.

It was reported that damage had been caused to a property on this street as well as the fence of a nearby school, believed to be caused by a black Chevrolet Jeep.

No one was injured as a result of the damage caused.

Officers recovered the Jeep and a man, aged 26, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and affray.

Shortly after at 2:45pm, officers arrested a further three males who were sighted in a black Audi A1 on Woodside in Ormesby. 

The males aged 17, 18 and 22 were all arrested on suspicion of conspiring to cause grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. The Audi, which is believed to be stolen, was seized and officers recovered an axe and knife from within the vehicle.

All four men remain in custody at this time.

Officers are appealing for anyone who may have seen the black Chevrolet Jeep in the area of Monmouth Road or the black Audi A1 in this area or the Ormesby area to contact police.

Anyone who may have dash cam footage or private CCTV footage or anyone with information regarding the incident which could assist officers in their investigation is asked to contact Redcar CID on 101, quoting event number SE20019563.
