Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Assault in Middlesbrough

Police are appealing for witnesses following a reported assault in Middlesbrough.
 
The incident occurred at around 7:45pm on Friday 27 September next to McDonalds on Linthorpe Road.
 
As a result of the incident, a 36-year-old man suffered fractured eye sockets and a fractured skull. He received treatment in James Cook University Hospital and has since been released.
 
A 25-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and a 30-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in connection with the incident. They were both released under investigation.
 
Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to contact Cleveland Police on the non-emergency number 101, quoting the event number 166999. Crimestoppers can also be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
