Attempted Robberies in Thornaby and North Ormesby

Three Arrested Following Two Attempted Robberies in Thornaby and North Ormesby

Yesterday evening, officers arrested three men in connection with two attempted robberies on Lanehouse Road in Thornaby and Westbourne Grove in North Ormesby.

The first incident occurred at the Premier Store in Thornaby at 8:15pm and the second incident occurred at Westbourne Store in North Ormesby at 8:40pm.

A hammer was recovered from the suspects which officers believe was used during the incidents and nothing was stolen from either of the shops.
No one was injured.

The three men aged 29, 41 and 36 have been arrested in connection with the incidents and they all remain in custody whilst enquiries continue.

Anyone with information regarding the incidents is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting event numbers 157501 (North Ormesby) or 157477 (Thornaby).
