Counter Terrorism Policing North East granted more time to question man from Middlesbrough

Counter Terrorism Policing North East can confirm it has been granted a warrant of further detention to continue questioning a man arrested on Saturday (August 31).
The 21-year-old man was arrested in North London on suspicion of being concerned in the commission, preparation or instigation of acts of terrorism under section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.

This morning an extension was approved by the court, giving detectives until Saturday September 7, 2019 to hold and question him.

Cleveland Police continue to work closely with their partners and communities to reassure local people and protect the public.
