Bicycle Marking Event in Middlesbrough
On Saturday 4th May, the Crime Prevention Team and the Cleveland Police cadets will be hosting a bicycle marking event at Middlesbrough Bus Station Cycle Centre between 10am and 2pm.
Crime Prevention Officer Gerry McBride said: “Recently our Police Cadets examined dozens of recovered bicycles in a bid to reunite owners with their suspected stolen property but unfortunately none of the bikes had been property marked.
“The event on Saturday is a great opportunity to get your bicycles marked. If your bike ever happens to be stolen in the future we can check the frame numbers on the bikes in the national stolen bike register database and reunite it with you.

“If you can’t get along to the event, keep checking our policing Facebook pages for other property marking events. If you would like to mark your own bike, there are commercial marking kits available. Use your house number and postcode when marking your bike as this will help us to get your pride and joy back to you if it’s stolen and recovered.

“Register your bike via, it’s free to use and it’s easy for us to carry out a search of their database. Mark my words, mark your bike”.
