Woman Robbed in North Ormesby

Police are appealing for information after a 76-year-old woman was robbed outside the bingo hall on the junction of Longlands Road and Kings Road in North Ormesby in Middlesbrough.

The incident occurred between 6:30pm and 7pm yesterday, Sunday 3rd February when the victim was approached by an unknown man who spoke to her and then grabbed her handbag which caused the victim to fall to the ground.

Following the robbery, the man ran across the car park of the bingo hall and exited the car park via the Buccaneer pub car park. 

The man was described as wearing dark coloured trainers and jogging bottoms, a black jacket and spoke with a local accent.

As a result of the incident, the victim suffered injuries to her face, hand and knees.
The bag was later recovered by a member of the public however items including a black Samsung S7 Edge and a brown leather Michael Kors purse containing £30.00 had been taken.
