CCTV Footage Released Following Attempted Burglary at 02 Store

Police are releasing CCTV footage of four men they would like to speak to in connection with an attempted burglary at the 02 store in Teesside Park.
The incident occurred on Tuesday 4th December at 8:45pm when four men entered the store armed with a sledgehammer and a crowbar,  attempted to steal from the shop and then threatened a security guard before making off empty handed.

All of the men were wearing dark clothes, balaclavas and gloves.  Three of the men are between 5 foot 10 inches and 6 foot tall and one is slightly larger at around 6 foot 2 inches and with a heavier build. The bigger man was wearing a two-tone jacket where the body was a lighter colour blue than the sleeves. None of the men had local accents.

Following the incident the men drove off in a dark blue Ford Kuga vehicle which is a 4x4 model. They headed from Teesside Park towards the A19. The car was recovered later that night after being abandoned in Acklam Road, Thornaby.

Detective Constable Joe Myers said: “This is a serious incident and we want to hear from anyone who might have spotted the car or who know the people responsible to contact Cleveland Police on 101, quoting incident number 221884.”

Crimestoppers anonymously can be contacted on 0800 555 111 or www.crimestoppers-uk.org.
