Two Men Charged Following Alleged Robbery on Clarendon Road

Police were called to a report of a robbery at a shop on Clarendon Road in Middlesbrough on Friday 19th October at 5pm.

A 37-year-old man was allegedly assaulted during the reported robbery and he remains in James Cook University Hospital where he is receiving treatment to his chest and hand.

Two men aged 22 and 30 were arrested and charged in connection with the incident for robbery,  grievous bodily arm and for threatening a person with a blade/ sharply pointed article in a public place. Both men appeared at Teesside Magistrates Court this morning, Monday 22nd October.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was around at the time of the incident in the Clarendon Road, University campus, Southfield Road area to contact Acting Detective Sergeant Gary Walters on 101 quoting event number 192943. Crimestoppers anonymously can be contacted on 0800 555 111 or
