Information sent on behalf of Cleveland Police

***Community Safety Notice***
It is not illegal to drive with snow on your car.
However, the Highway Code states that if you are driving in adverse weather conditions you must be able to see out of every glass panel in your vehicle. Section 41D of the road traffic act 1988 supports this.
This could result in a fine but, even more importantly, you could place your life, the lives of your passengers and the lives of those around you in danger.
Please, please ensure that your windscreen and windows are fully de-misted before you set off and that your vehicle roof, windows, bonnet and headlights are thoroughly cleared of all snow. Failing to do this could leave yourself liable to offences such as 'driving without due consideration' or 'using a motor vehicle in a dangerous condition.... Is it worth the risk?
Please stay safe and share this post.....
