Attempt Robbery in Thornaby

Police are appealing for information after three teenagers (one female and two males) were victim to an attempt robbery on Mitchell Avenue in Thornaby.


The incident occurred on Sunday 26th February at 7:30pm when a man approached the teenagers and made threats towards them and tried to steal a pedal cycle which the female victim was pushing.


The suspect was wearing dark clothing and a balaclava.


Following the incident the man then made off along Stanstead Way empty handed.


Officers would like local residents with CCTV or drivers with dashcam footage who were in the area at the time of the incident to come forward as they may be able to assist with enquiries. Anyone with information regarding the man responsible is asked to contact PC Joe Myers on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111/ or quoting event number 034155.
