Family Pays Tribute to Man Killed in Collision in Stockton

A family has paid tribute to a loving father who sadly died last night after being involved in a collision last week in Stockton.

51-year-old Robert Andrew Burns was taken to James Cook University Hospital with life-threatening injuries following a collision which occurred on Norton Road roundabout at the Durham Bypass turnoff at 11:55am on Tuesday 12th September.

Mr Burns was cycling when the collision with the Vauxhall Zafira occurred and the 44-year-old female driver of the vehicle has been arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is currently under investigation.

Officers continue to appeal for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with dash cam footage who was in the area around the time of the collision is asked to contact the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 165143.
