Important Reminder for All Drivers and Delivery Staff

Following a recent series of vehicle thefts involving drivers leaving vehicles unattended with engines running whilst making deliveries, we are reminding drivers of their responsibility to secure vehicles at all times.

🚗 Leaving a vehicle running, even for a few moments, creates an unnecessary security risk and provides an easy opportunity for opportunistic thieves. Recent incidents have shown just how quickly a vehicle can be stolen when basic security measures are not followed.

✅ Whenever you leave your vehicle, you must:

🔑 Switch off the engine
🔑 Remove the keys
🔒 Lock the vehicle
📦 Secure any equipment, property, or valuables
⏱️ Never assume a quick delivery or brief stop makes it safe to leave a vehicle running

⚠️ In addition to the risk of theft, leaving a vehicle unattended with the engine running may have insurance implications. Depending on the circumstances and policy conditions, insurers may refuse or reduce a claim if it is determined that reasonable precautions were not taken to secure the vehicle.
