Burnt our vehicles behind Newham Bridge School |
Good evening After having two further burnt out vehicles recovered from the field and beck area behind the area of Newham Bridge Primary and Glendale Road, I have been in contact with Councillor Luke Henman to request the lego blocks on the footpath be moved further apart to make the clearance area smaller solving the issue of the area being used for ingress and egress by joyriders. Cllr Henman swiftly got in contact with the relevant department at Middlesbrough Council and also Cllr Gavigan, the Cllr for Saltersgill which is the boundary area between the fields. While the access area cannot be completely closed off due to the council parks and gardens grass cutting services requiring access, they are in the process of organising a meeting to find a practical and long term solution to the issue. I am aware that the red swing barrier currently in situ is broken again and this has been broken on a number of occasions after being fixed so Cllr Henman and Cllr Gavigan are keen to find an alternative and lasting solution. I will keep you updated on any progress. In the meantime, I am grateful to vigilant residents continuing to report incidents to 101 and on the online reporting systems so we can deal with issues as swiftly as possible. I am on annual leave now until 14th September, however, I do have access to emails and will respond when I can to any concerns or queries you send me.
Kind regards PCSO 5751 Annabel Allinson | ||
