Abandoned and burnt out vehicles |
||
|
Good evening
After I raised a number of reports to the environemntal team regarding the vehicle abandoned on Malvern Drive, it has finally been removed while I was on rest days.
I have raised another issue with the local councillor for Acklam ward to request that the lego blocks situated at the open gates to the footpath behind Newham Bridge School be repositioned further out onto the green belt area so that stolen vehicles cannot gain access to the green area. Today I was tasked to an incident regarding two burnt out vehicles in the beck and green area. I arranged for these to be removed from the green area and beck between the rear of Newham Bridge School and Beverley School. Unfortunately, while the gap left from the positioning of the lego bricks leaves a gap large enough for bikes and motor vehicles to gain access and egress, the opening is not large enought to allow recovery vehicles down to remove the offending vehicles. The recovery company will return on Monday to collect one vehicle at a time using a smaller 4x4 tow truck. This comes at a greater financial cost. Hopefully, this can be rectified soon by moving the lego block and reducing the ability for joyriders to gain access.
As always, please email me if you have any queries, issues or good news stories.
Kind regards Annabel | ||
