Cleveland Police receive top grading in new police performance systemCleveland Police has achieved the highest possible rating under a new inspection framework launched by HMICFRS.
Cleveland Police has achieved the highest possible rating under a new inspection frameworklaunched by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary and Fire & Rescue Services (HMICFRS).
The force has been awarded Level One status in the newly introduced Police Performance System.
The status recognises organisations that are performing strongly and demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.
The assessment means HMICFRS has not identified any significant concerns requiring additional monitoring or intervention and acknowledges the progress being made across the force.
Introduced this year, the Police Performance System classifies forces into four levels, helping inspectors identify and support organisations that may require assistance to improve performance.
Cleveland PCC Matt Storey said: “This new performance level, decided by a panel of national experts, recognises that Cleveland Police has only minor performance concerns that can be handled without any intervention from national bodies."
