Brilliant day of engagement!

Had a great day engaging with the community!

I started at The Orb Centre (Oxford Road Baptist Church), chatting with regular attendees about my role and any local issues – plus I was kindly treated to a bacon butty! A fantastic regular event supported by generous locals.

Next, I visited Waverley Outdoor Community Hub, where I met volunteers who’ve done amazing work on the allotment with manager Yvonne. It was great to hear how it’s given many a sense of purpose after retirement and improved their mental wellbeing. Keep an eye out for their produce available for donations.

I then dropped into Belle Vue Youth Centre, a lovely, safe space where children were enjoying arts and crafts.

Throughout the day, I also patrolled the ward and spoke with residents – it was really nice to receive positive feedback about my presence in the area.
