I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Anti-social behaviour - General, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. We have recently seen an increase in Anti-social behaviour in and around the Valley Gardens in Marske with those responsible being Teenagers from Loftus, Marske and Redcar.
In response to this Police applied a 48 hour dispersal order over the area of St Germains, giving officers the power to disperse the youths from the area and taking repeat offenders home to their parents.
Although the Valley Gardens are classed as a public park, the attending teenagers are gathering in a large group, consisiting of 20 - 30 young people who are were found to be using a Bluetooth speaker which was playing music excessively loud. creating a noise nuisance to the surrounding homes. The youths were also located within the trees and shrubs which causes damage to the grounds, and a large amount of rubbish was left behind for others to clear up.
Police will continue to monitor the situation, and will apply for further dispersal orders to be put in place in order to prevent further gatherings of this nature.
We would like to remind parents that the Valley Gardens are open to the public, often being used by lone and/or elderly residents who may find such large gatherings intimidating and kindly ask that you remind your children to aware and community spirited while visiting the site, and to keep any music to a minimum so that there is no disturbance to the peace of the surrounding homes.
As Ever, Residents should report further incidents to both the Redcar Civil Enforcement and to Police on 101.
Regards Redcar NPT
