Local Priorities Road Safety Issues Message

I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Road Safety Issues, which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.

After an issue raised by concerned residents of ELWICK VILLAGE regarding vulnerable people walking on the road (due to no footpath) to go into ELWICK PCSO CALVERT liaised with HARTLEPOOL BOROUGH COUNCIL HIGHWAY AGENCY to see if it was possible to have a sign erected to warn drivers people maybe walking on the road. After a few discussions a sign has now been put up by HIGHWAYS near to the problem area, unfortunately it is not possible to install a footpath so pedestrians have no option but to walk on the road. Hopefully this will help.
