Foggy Furze Ward Walkabout |
||
Today Inspector Dack and PCSO Say from the Hartlepool Neighbourhood Policing Team held a “Ward Walkabout” in the Foggy Furze ward, they were joined by: • Melanie Morley and Martin Dunbar (Foggy Furze Ward Councillors) • Karen Oliver (Chair of Neighbourhood Services, Hartlepool Borough Council) • Martin Jones (Project Officer, Hartlepool Borough Council) • Marie Harland (Anti-social Behaviour Officer, Hartlepool Borough Council) • Amy Burbidge (Anti-social Behaviour Resolution Lead, Thirteen Group) • Kelly Spink (Problem Solving Advisor, Cleveland Police) • Steve Cranston (Designing Out Crime Officer, Cleveland Police)
The group met at the Hartlepool Community Grocery, The Orb Centre, Caledonian Road and then spent an hour walking around the area of Oxford Road and Cornwall Street speaking to local residents and identifying opportunities where working together and using a multi-agency approach can improve community safety in the local area.
Inspector Dack said: “We know safer streets come from strong partnerships, and today’s walkabout was a great chance for each agency to meet residents and find out what matters most in their neighbourhood.
“Being out on the streets together gives us a better understanding of the challenges residents face day to day and helps us work together to find practical solutions.”
