Message from PCC Matt Storey |
||
Thank you so much to signing up for updates from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC) on Cleveland Connected. I’m Matt Storey, your elected Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for the Cleveland Police force area. I’m responsible for setting the budget for policing, ensuring Cleveland Police provides a good service to the public and holding them to account for their work. I also fund a range of services to support victims of crime and reduce offending. Cleveland Police and Crime Plan As set out in my Police and Crime Plan, it is my ambition to build safe, strong and confident communities by delivering against six priorities: - Reduce crime, antisocial behaviour and harm - Deliver more visible and effective policing - Improve safety for women and girls - Ensure the right support for victims and vulnerable people - Build trust and confidence in policing and the justice system - Tackle offending and re-offending We will use this platform to send you messages about how my small - but talented – team is making progress to deliver the above objectives. Follow our work In addition to Cleveland Connected, my office has a website, works with journalists and posts on social media to let you know what’s going on. If you don’t already follow us on social media, please follow us on the below platforms: Our website contains the latest news, decisions and funding opportunities from the OPCC and our violence reduction partnership, CURV. Get involved As PCC, I am your voice in policing, justice and community safety. It’s important that I hear from as many residents, businesses and organisations as possible to understand which issues affect you and your community. My office runs regular surveys, focus groups and engagement stalls to make sure the public and victims’ voices are factored into our work. Soon, I will launch the Shape your Safety engagement programme, which will outline how you can get involved and make a difference. Thanks again for your interest in the work of my office. Kind regards, Matt *Please remember that the OPCC is not Cleveland Police and we do not accept reports of crime. If you need to speak with the police, please call 999 in an emergency or 101 for any other incident. | ||
